What is the best part of the job?
Seeing the look on everyone’s faces while going through a rapid. It’s always so funny to see how people react while going through each rapid.
Why do you think people should go on a rafting trip?
Why not? There is no reason why you shouldn’t! It’s a great way to get your adrenaline fill while being around the most beautiful scenery you will ever see.
What is a fun fact about you?
I start medical school in the fall of 2021 at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine
Why would I want you as a guide?
I am easy to get along with! Of course, you are there to have fun, but you’ll be in the raft with the same guide for over an hour, so why not go down with someone that gets along with everybody.
How long and Why/How did you start working at Ocoee Inn Rafting?
This upcoming summer will be my 6th summer as a guide! My dad was a raft guide here at Ocoee Inn when I was little, so I have been on the Ocoee river my entire life. Once I turned 18, I was so excited to get on the river as a guide!
Otherwise known as/nickname.
No nickname! Just my name or whatever you want to call me
How did you get your nickname?
From my mom when I was born
What are some crazy/adventurous things you’ve done?
I went whitewater kayaking on the Tellico River when it was 20 degrees outside
What do you love about Ocoee Inn Rafting?
The guides here at Ocoee Inn Rafting are phenomenal. You will not find guides like this anywhere else. The guides here will provide you with the best time of your life while maintaining your safety the entirety of the trip.
What makes you unique as a guide and why would I request you?
I can be as crazy as you want (while still being safe), or be as safe as you want.
Do you have anything to tell first-time rafters?
Relax! There is no need to be nervous. You are in great hands here at Ocoee Inn! The more you relax, the more you will have fun and enjoy this awesome experience.
Where did you grow up? If not locally, what brought you here?
What does your off season look like?
Between school and studying for school at Shorter University, I don’t have much time to do anything else. But, when that free time does come, you can find me out on a river kayaking.
What are your hobbies?
Whitewater kayaking, fishing, or anything that involves the outdoors
What/Who inspires you?
The need to serve individuals in my community through medical intervention has been my inspiration for as long as I can remember. That inspiration is what has driven me to become a medical student and eventual doctor.
