What is the best part of the job?
The end of the trip when your customers had the trip they came for and wanting to go back to the top and do it again.
Why do you think people should go on a rafting trip?
Theres nothing else like it and no two trips are the same.
What is a fun fact about you?
I have completed two full ironmans and when in college won a bassmaster’s college bass tournament
Why would I want you as a guide?
After years of experience and hundreds of trips down the river, I can give you the ride you are looking for.
How long and Why/How did you start working at Ocoee Inn Rafting?
2009 was my first year as a guide so this season will be my 11th consecutive year, Jimbo was my golf coach and took me down several times and the summer of my high school graduation i knew i wanted to spend my summer on the Ocoee.
What are some crazy/adventurous things you’ve done?
I would say my crazy adventours things have to do with Ironman triathlons or running the New York marathon. For those that don’t know an Ironman is 2.4 miles swimming, 112 miles biking followed by a 26.2 mile run. This is all done in one 16 hour time limit.
What do you love about Ocoee Inn Rafting?
We are a family on and off the river, i don’t believe you will find a closer bunch of guides that have been together as long as we have.
What makes you unique as a guide and why would I request you?
Request and i can show you.
Do you have anything to tell first-time rafters?
Be ready to bring your friends next time!
Where did you grow up? If not not locally, what brought you here?
I grew up in Cleveland and currently live downtown Chattanooga.
What does your off season look like?
I work as an engineer at a transmission line design (power lines) company downtown. But enjoy hunting and fishing with friends and family.
What are your hobbies?
Hunting, fishing, training for races (triathlons or marathons).
What/Who inspires you?
Jimbo!!! Who wouldn’t wanna spend thirty years on the river!
