WHAT IS THE BEST PART OF THE JOB?

I love meeting new people and spending time with my river family.

WHY DO YOU THINK PEOPLE SHOULD GO ON A RAFTING TRIP?

It’s truly one of my favorite things to do in life. It’s the perfect mix of precision, nature, and adventure. It’s even more fun if you can bring your friends and family to spend the day together.

WHAT IS A FUN FACT ABOUT YOU?

I am obsessed with donuts, I studied abroad in Italy, I’ve been on 19 cruises, and I still have 2 baby teeth at age 28.

WHY WOULD I WANT YOU AS A GUIDE?

Being a math teacher, I see the rapids as hitting everything at just the right angle. I love to be on the water and sharing my love of the river with others.

HOW LONG AND WHY/HOW DID YOU START WORKING AT OCOEE INN RAFTING?

I actually went down the Ocoee for the first time when I was 12. I came back every year as a customer and when I turned 18, Jimbo joked that I should come be a trainee because I knew the river better than half of the rookies. When I became a teacher and had summers off, everything fell into place. This will be my 4th year as a guide.

OTHERWISE KNOWN AS/NICNAME.

MK

OTHERWISE KNOWN AS/NICNAME.

I have always loved monograms and I love the brand Michael Kors. It’s my initials and even my license plate.

What are some crazy/adventurous things you’ve done?

Indoor skydiving, ziplining, rock climbing, solo traveling, and teaching middle school lol

What do you love about Ocoee Inn Rafting?

I would definitely say the family environment. The guides are truly my second family, and I wouldn’t work anywhere else.

What makes you unique as a guide and why would I request you?

People usually assume the “girl” is quiet and shy. Most are surprised when my “teacher/coach” voice comes out. I enjoy telling stories and connecting with people.

Do you have anything to tell first-time rafters?

Don’t be scared! Listen to your guide, relax, and you’ll get the hang of it. Oh, and hope you don’t mind getting a little wet.

Where did you grow up? If not locally, what brought you here?

I was born and raised in Florida and actually still live in Tallahassee, Florida full time. I come up to Tennessee to do this as a summer gig because I enjoy it so much.

What does your off season look like?

I am a 7th and 8th grade math teacher, and I coach school and club volleyball.

What are your hobbies?

Volleyball, traveling, interior design, and anything on the water.

What/Who inspires you?

My parents are the two most incredible people. They are independent, intelligent, involved, and have the strongest work ethic. They are also my biggest supporters and some of Ocoee Inn’s most loyal customers (:
