It starts when I show up and ends when I leave.
Why do you think people should go on a rafting trip?
Because we all need the experience of adventure in our lives and the Ocoee River is a beautiful outdoor setting to satisfy that need.
What is a fun fact about you?
I like to play handpans.
Why would I want you as a guide?
I don’t know if you would or not but I guarantee you will get wet or your money back.
How long and Why/How did you start working at Ocoee Inn Rafting?
I started rafting on the Ocoee in 1995, the year after I graduated high school because a friend of mine named David Matthews asked me if I would like to try it.
Otherwise known as/nickname.
My name is Michael but everyone calls me Mike T
What are some crazy/adventurous things you’ve done?
I have gone hang gliding. I once moved out west without knowing where I was going to stay. I have done some others that I won’t mention here.
What do you love about Ocoee Inn Rafting?
It feels like family there and I have the coolest boss and manager on the river.
What makes you unique as a guide and why would I request you?
I like to try to make sure that my guests get the kind of experience they are looking for. I also like to be safe.
Where did you grow up? If not not locally, what brought you here?
Cleveland, TN
What does your off season look like?
Totally opposite. I work indoors, currently at a plant that makes Coppertone Sunscreen.
What are your hobbies?
Playing guitar, mountain biking, weight lifting.
What/Who inspires you?
Jesus inspires me. My family and friends inspire me.
